about

The first recording by Jazz Orient since 2012's "Undiscovered Time" album (as Re-Orient).

Sangeet is a song by Linda Shanovitch that she has been dying to record for a long time. Originally written in a reggae beat, Linda decided to make it a Latin street dance song.

Due to the pandemic Chris Conway rearranged the song to a Latin beat in his studio in Leicester. The rest of the band sent their parts from their studio in London. Oscar Castellino recorded many strong lead and harmony vocal parts, and Argentinian sisters Paula & Fabiana Chavez recorded street calls in Spanish to spice up the song, and Shreya Navak added some Indian spice with her vocal.

But the original heart of Jazz Orient (aka Re-Orient) - Baluji Shrivastav's sitar and tabla, Linda Shanovitch;s unique voice, and Chris Conway's multi-instrumental wizardry - is still beating strongly!
